From the board

PCC’s Board of Trustees has chosen not to renew Jeff Voltz’s contract as CEO. We thank him for his many years of service to PCC and we wish to acknowledge Jeff for his many contributions. His legacy includes establishing the first organic dairies, the first organic egg ranch in Washington State and the formation of the Northwest and the National Cooperative Grocers Associations. He also worked hard to develop a nationally branded, controlled label program owned by cooperatives and to establish the PCC Farmland Fund. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Effective November 28, 2000, Randy Lee and Tracy Wolpert will serve as the interim Co-CEO team. They have the full support of the board. The board is conducting a formal search for a new CEO. PCC is in a sound financial position, has a strong organization in place and has an enduring commitment to its founding values.

The board has confidence in the positive effects of changes already underway to further position PCC for the future. We appreciate the efforts of our staff for all their hard work. Thank you for supporting Randy and Tracy during this transition period. We need to work together to provide the most satisfying natural foods shopping experience to our members.

Sincerely,
PCC Board of Trustees

From our Co-CEO’s

We, too, want to join in a heartfelt thanks to Jeff for the nearly nine years he has led our entire team at PCC.

Throughout this period of transition, we believe it’s particularly important for PCC members and staff to understand that significant gains have been achieved over the past few months that will position our company for future success. Through the hard work of store level employees, combined with those individuals working in the office, we have made great progress in establishing the necessary infrastructure that is essential for PCC’s survival in this highly competitive environment. Change has taken place in many forms and will undoubtedly continue to some degree as we strive to deliver on our mission statement in a consistent manner.

We look forward to working with each and every one of you and together we will continue moving our business forward.

Sincerely,
Randy Lee and Tracy Wolpert
Acting Co-CEO’s
