The 2007 Farm Bill

Can you imagine a world without the U.S. Constitution, the United Nations Charter, or the Geneva Accords? Consider that the United States farm bills are of equal importance to our food system, yet most people don’t have a clue what they cover or why there is one, let alone realize that the farm bill should be a farmer-consumer-environment bill of rights.

PCC 2007 Annual Membership Meeting

This year, PCC’s annual member meeting will be held in the historic Town Hall in downtown Seattle. “We’ve been dealing over the last few years with the ‘happy problem’ of outgrowing our meeting spaces,” says board chair Bob Cross. “It’s wonderful that more of our members wish to attend, so we have made this move to accommodate more of them.”

In response to spiraling environmental degradation, Oakland, Portland and other U.S. cities have banned the use of styrofoam take-out containers in restaurants and cafés.

Creek restoration at Ames Creek Farm: Where there’s a fish, there’s a way

Join us for a creekside planting party Sunday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Ames Creek Farm. Now, as we enter the second growing season as the stewards of Ames Creek Farm, we can assist the farmers in re-creating habitat for wildlife at the farm.
