When will your next schedule of classes be available?
We release a new schedule four times a year, usually at the beginning of March, June, September and December. Sign up for our enewsletter to receive notifications every quarter and to get bi-weekly updates on our seasonal classes. Popular classes will be added based on demand.

How can I see which classes I am registered for?
From your account dashboard you can view your recent orders, including classes. You will also receive an email confirmation when you originally register for a class and a reminder email 10 days prior to a class.

Do I have to be a PCC member to take classes?
No, our classes are open to all shoppers! Our members do get special benefits and perks. For more information about PCC membership, please visit here.

What is your refund policy if I have to cancel?
We can issue a credit or refund if you cancel your spot at least seven days prior to a class. If we cancel a class, a credit or refund is issued.

Why was my class cancelled?
It is rare, but on occasion classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment or unexpected events such as instructor illness. We will notify you by phone and email with as much notice as possible if there is a class cancellation.

Can a friend go in my place if I can’t attend my class?
Yes! If you are unable to attend, you may offer your spot to someone else. They should indicate in class that the registration is under your name.

If I’m on a waiting list, when will I know if I get into the class?
We will call or email you as soon as we know a spot has become available. If we have not notified you, then the class is still full.

I’m having trouble logging in to my account. What should I do?
The best approach would be to go to the LOGIN page and use the email address connected to your account to be sent a temporary login. Use this login within 24 hours to reset your password.

How do I give someone a class as a gift?
You can purchase a PCC gift card online or at any PCC store and let the recipient choose their class and register by phone.

Do you offer private classes?
Yes! Visit our private events page for more information on scheduling a custom class.

How can I apply my gift card to a class purchase?
Gift cards can be redeemed by phone. At this time, gift cards cannot be used online.

Can I register and pay for a class at my local store?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. You may register online 24 hours a day or by phone at 206-545-7112, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

My child is mature for their age; can I send them to an adult class?
We format our classes with a focus on creating the best experience for the intended age group. Our adult classes are open to teenagers age 16 and up, and teens age 13 and older may be considered if an adult is also attending with them. Contact us in advance to determine if a class is appropriate for younger students.

My child is interested in a kids’ class for an older age group. Can I sign them up?
Our kids’ classes are formatted for the age ranges listed. While we recognize that there are varying skill levels among kids of any age, for the most successful learning experience, we ask that children attend the class for their age range.



If I have any dietary restrictions, can I have the instructor make something special?
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to accommodate special requests in our classes. However, we aim to accommodate where it is logical; for example, leaving dairy off as a topping for your portion. See notes at the end of each class description about which classes serve meat, poultry, seafood, dairy or eggs. Instructors diligently test their recipes before presenting them as part of a class and will prepare them as written.

Are your classrooms gluten-free facilities?
Our teaching classrooms are not gluten-free facilities, but we make an effort to prevent cross-contamination in GF-designated classes. Gluten-free classes are labelled with a Gluten-Free tag. It is best to contact us ahead of time if you have questions about a class menu.



Will I get to help prepare food in class?
We have different types of classes to please all students. If you prefer to be moving about in an active learning environment, look for the Hands-On tag next to class descriptions. If you prefer to relax, watch and take notes, look for the Demo tag. You will receive a printed copy of the recipes in all classes.

Do we get to eat the food in class? Should I eat first?
You will receive 4 to 5 nice bites of each recipe prepared in class. We recommend eating a light meal or snack before class, as most samples are generally served towards the end of class.

Do I need to bring anything? How should I dress?
For your comfort, you may wish to dress in layers; classroom temperatures fluctuate when ovens and stoves are used. For hands-on classes, feel free to bring an apron and please wear closed-toe shoes.

Can I go to a full class hoping that someone will not show up?
No, we can’t accommodate walk-ins. Unfortunately, we can’t know if someone is not going to attend at all or if they are simply running late.

Where should I park?
As a courtesy to shoppers with heavy loads of groceries, please park in spots further from the store entrance. A staff person would be glad to carry out your groceries if you are shopping after class. Our Green Lake Village store has validated underground parking for 90 minutes. Parking passes are provided for students at our Columbia City store.

Can I bring wine or beer to drink in the class?
Washington State law strictly regulates alcohol service in classes. Classes with the 21+ tag feature sample-size servings of beer, wine or spirits, rather than restaurant-style pours. Alcohol is not allowed in other classes.

For private events, you may bring in wine or beer to serve during class; a Banquet Permit is required. Visit our private events page for more information.

How many students are in your classes?
You can expect an intimate setting of no more than 14 students for our hands-on classes. Our demonstration classes accommodate a maximum of 24 students.

Will I receive any recipes to take home?
Yes! Students will receive a class packet that includes all the recipes from class. At the end of class, students also receive a $5 coupon to use on their next shopping trip to PCC.



How do I apply to be an instructor?
We’re always accepting applications for cooking instructors excited to share their skills and favorite recipes. Meet our team.

Instructors must submit a proposal for a specific class and should be willing to teach classes at each of our 7 PCC classroom locations over a 6-week period. All ingredients used in class must be available at PCC.
