The committee’s responsibilities are to recruit and screen candidates for the board. nominating committee members are elected for one year.

Below are the candidates for the 2016 election:

Jason Filippini

CPA, CFE – Senior Director of Finance, The Seattle Times

As a member of the nominating committee during 2015, I witnessed the passion around those who want to make a difference in our community through PCC as the co-op continues to grow. This growth is leading PCC to a greater impact in our community. My experience, along with my background serving on boards of directors and in our business community, will allow me to continue to help support PCC’s leadership growth into the future.

Janet Hietter

I value PCC and want to contribute my skills and experience by serving again on the nominating committee.

Background: Six previous years on PCC’s nominating committee. Eighteen years HR experience, including advising executives on organizational and leadership issues and directing HR services to ~7500 employees, including training/ development, employee relations, performance management, compensation and recruiting. I completed the Executive Leadership Program at Seattle University, hold a B.A. from The Ohio State University and was a Certified Compensation Professional.

Mary Simon

I believe PCC is an important part of the Seattle community and plays a vital role in this country’s sustainable food supply.

I am a retired programmer/ engineer and ombudsman from AT&T Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies. My experience with negotiation, conflict resolution and organizational development was helpful when I was elected to the PCC Board of Trustees in 2003. I served a full three-year term, becoming Chair of the Board in my third year. I have previously served on the nominating committee, and it would be a privilege to do so again.

Sara Walsh

I have worked for PCC for 17 years both in the stores and now overseeing Community Relations. I believe this history has given me not only a deep understanding of PCC’s operations but an understanding of what the members consider to be important. I would be honored to serve another year on the committee and continue helping with the process of selecting board candidates who will work hard to fulfill PCC’s long-range vision of sustainability.

Visionary leadership from our board and nominating committee members will play a major role in the success of our co-op in the coming years.
