PCC also was the first retail partner in the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program, which rates seafood choices according to environmental sustainability. Seafood is low in saturated fat, high in protein and full of nutrients; and we’ve taken extra care to make sure the kinds you’ll find in our cases don’t have unhealthy levels of mercury or other contaminants such as PCBs. This means it’s caught or harvested in environmentally friendly ways that avoid habitat destruction and wasteful “bycatch” — and that stocks are strong, not threatened by overfishing.
