Ingredients
- 2 cups okara
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 4 large cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 to 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1/2 to 3/4 vegetable broth
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine okara, rolled oats, onions, garlic and sea salt.
Stir in broth, a little at a time, until a thick, chunky batter forms. You want the burgers soft enough to hold together, but not actually wet.
Form into patties about 4-inches across and 1-inch-thick.
Cook patties over medium heat, on a well-oiled grill or in a nonstick skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes per side, until the exterior is golden and crisp and the patty is set.
Special notes:
These patties can be seasoned to your taste, with anything from fresh herbs to curry powder. Taste and experiment!
