- 3/4-inch knob fresh ginger, peeled and sliced thin
- 1 star anise pod
- 12 ounces boiling water, divided
- 1 teaspoon honey, or to taste
- 3 broad strips orange zest
- 1 thin slice lemon
Place ginger slices and star anise in a large mug and pour in half the boiling water. Let steep for 5 minute, then remove star anise. Stir in honey, add orange zest and lemon and top with remaining boiling water.
