Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried marjoram
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried sumac
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste

Directions

Toast sesame seeds in a heavy skillet set over medium heat. Stir continuously for 3 to 5 minutes, until fragrant and light brown. Remove seeds from the hot pan and let cool to room temperature.

In a small dish or 1/4-cup jar, stir or shake together toasted seeds and all remaining ingredients. Store at room temperature and use within 3 months for best flavor.

Special notes:

Sprinkle it on your morning eggs or dinner’s roasted squash, brush some olive oil on flatbread and add a few shakes; you can even appreciate it on a basic cheese pizza.
