PCC Co-op Purpose Report

Our commitment runs deep.

In 2016, we began publishing an annual Co-op Purpose Report to share with our members and shoppers the impact we’re having against our triple bottom line in our communities and beyond. We use data to measure progress against social and environmental goals, tell the stories of partners who enable us to do what we do and reiterate the values that don’t always show up in numbers, but are often the reasons why our members and shoppers choose PCC time and again.

“Our co-op’s operating values, food quality standards, and this community are the interwoven threads that make PCC so special — as always, we thank you for shopping your values at PCC. We are so proud of our team, grateful to our member-owners, humbled by the support of our suppliers and community partners, and energized by our cooperative purpose.”

– Krish Srinivasan, PCC CEO & President

Responsible Sourcing, Sustainable Operations, and Community and Food Systems

Since our co-op’s humble beginnings in 1953, we’ve believed that good food has the power to bring people together, create memories, and effect change. In 2023, this work included launching PCC’s Inclusive Trade Program to increase support for business owners who identify as members of historically and currently excluded communities, a new approach to reducing emissions and bolstering partnerships that support community food systems.
