Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 pound (about 1/2 cup) crumbled blue cheese
  • Canola oil, for frying
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

In a bowl, combine ground beef, thyme and pepper; mix well. Divide into 6 equal portions and form into thin, flat patties.

Crumble blue cheese and place 1/3 of it on 3 patties. Top each with the remaining 3 patties and pinch around the edges to seal.

In a frying pan over medium-low heat, fry the patties in a small amount of oil for about 5 minutes on each side. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground pepper while cooking.
