Seasonal produce

Yes, it’s finally almost time for local organic berries! Strawberries will begin arriving from our friends at Rent’s Due Ranch late this month, picked fresh from farmer Mike Shriver’s fields in Stanwood, Wash. These ruby gems are fragrant, delicate and wonderfully sweet. If you somehow manage not to devour them immediately, visit pccnaturalmarkets.com/recipes for more than four dozen delightful ways to use them.

It’s also time for local and organic bunching greens, kale, rainbow chard and lush local lettuces. Organic stone fruit (nectarines, peaches, plums and cherries) will be coming our way from California. And guess what? When those strawberries are done, it’s time for fresh, local and organic blueberries from LaPierre Farms in Zillah, Wash.

Snacks

We offer a remarkably diverse snack selection at PCC, including chips crafted from cassava root, kale, coconuts, and even black beans, not to mention a wealth of snacks for our shoppers with special diets.

We recently added two new kid-friendly snacks to the lineup from Good Boy Organics that are both gluten free and non-GMO certified. BOPS are a baked organic potato snack with 65 percent less fat than regular potato chips. OrganicaSaurus snacks are baked organic cheese puffs in the shape of ferocious (but tasty) dinosaurs.
