Food access in our community

For more than 30 years, PCC’s food bank and grocery rescue programs have provided immediate in-kind and financial support to hunger relief organizations across the Puget Sound.

Through our grocery rescue program, thousands of pounds of high-quality food — including organic, local produce and free-range meats to grass-fed dairy and made-from-scratch deli items — are donated directly from our stores.

Through our “Growing for Good program,” we partner with Harvest Against Hunger and Neighborhood Farmers Markets to support food banks and small local farms. With funds raised by PCC members, shoppers and staff, our food bank partners are able to purchase food directly from family-owned organic farms in the area. During the off-season, they purchase food through our wholesale distributor to ensure access to nutritious food year-round.

Together, with more than 40 partners across the emergency food system, we put healthy food on tables around the Puget Sound region.
