USDA must conduct an EIS on GE wheat

PCC Natural Markets signed on to a legal petition asking for a thorough analysis and review of the social, economic, and environmental impact of genetically engineered wheat. The petition was filed February 18, 2004.

The petition argues that the U.S. Department of Agriculture is legally obligated to conduct a full Environmental Impact Statement on an application by Monsanto to release GE wheat.
