- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1/4 cup Grand Marnier (optional)
In a saucepan, combine sugar, water and orange peel over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking, without stirring, until mixture boils. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat, discard peel and stir in Grand Marnier. Let cool to room temperature. Syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
