Description
From creamy ice cream, to intense and smooth gelato, to dairy-free fruity sorbet, there are no better homemade summer desserts. Chef Nico will show you how to make the base for each and change them up for variety and texture by adding fruit or infusing them with interesting flavors. In class, well work hands-on to make Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Seasonal Fruit; Vanilla stracciatella Gelato and Creamy chocolate sorbet. You'll learn the science behind each frozen treat and then how to adapt them with your favorite flavors.
Contains dairy and eggs.
About the instructor: Pastry chef Nico Caballero has cooked and baked his way through 5 states and 4 countries, include staging at a bakery in France. He graduated with a BA in Music Composition from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and while he still loves to make music, food is a deep passion for him. He believes a large part of cooking is sharing the cultural experience of food with those around you, and making it an interactive experience is the best way to learn and have fun!
