Calling all cheese lovers! Chef, dairymaid and cheesemaker Jackie will be your guide for this workshop where you’ll learn to make Fresh Mozzarella, Buttermilk Cheese, and Paneer from scratch. Jackie will focus on techniques that you can easily do at home. From equipment use and care to ingredients and supplies, you’ll come away with the basic principles of classic cheesemaking.
Vegetarian with dairy; no eggs or gluten.
About the instructor: Jackie Freeman has been cooking professionally in catering companies, private kitchens and restaurants for more than 20 years. She transitioned from the kitchen to the country, where she raised livestock and vegetables, and made artisan cheese on farms in Washington State. Jackie now combines her culinary and farming skills working as a recipe developer, food stylist and cooking instructor. Her first book, Easy Beans: Simple, Satisfying Recipes That Are Good For You, Your Wallet, And The Planet, will be available November 3, 2020.
This is a demonstration class offered live via the Zoom app. You will receive an email with recipes and class details five days in advance. After class, we will share a recorded version. This class is not designed as a cook-along. All key elements will be shown in class; however, instructors may complete time-consuming steps in advance. Online classes are nonrefundable.
