Description
Dim sum doesn’t have to be a restaurant-only food! Learn to make your own dim sum at home with help from Hsiao-Ching, author of “Vegetarian Chinese Soul Food.” She’ll show you how to craft Crystal Dumplings start to finish – from translucent starch dough and squash filling, to folding the wrappers and steaming the dumplings. Hsiao-Ching will also prepare Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, and cover stir-frying fundamentals as she makes Gai Lan (Chinese broccoli) with Oyster Mushrooms.
Vegan; with gluten.
About the instructor: Hsiao-Ching is the author of Chinese Soul Food and Vegetarian Chinese Soul Food. She is the former food editor at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper and has appeared on national television and radio. She serves as the chair of the James Beard Foundation’s Book Awards Committee, as well as a member of the board of directors for the Ballard Food Bank.
