Ages 8 to 12 with one adult guest. Indulge in the world of delightful chocolate candy making with our fun-filled class led by Chocolatier Joanna Lepore Dwyer. Kids and adults alike will embark on a sweet journey as they learn to craft their favorite chocolate treats at home. Get ready to create Chocolate Nut Butter Cups, Chocolate-Covered Caramel Shortbread Bars, and Hand-piped Chocolate Kisses, all using rich and whole-food ingredients. Discover the art of chocolate tempering, candy making, and piping skills, as you and your budding chocolatier prepare an assortment of delectable layers and fillings, including praline, shortbread, and caramel. These homemade versions of classic chocolate candies will leave you with a lasting preference for better-for-you treats. Parents will gain the tools to create healthier indulgences at home, while kids get hands-on cooking experience and a deeper understanding of their favorite foods. Join us for a chocolate adventure like no other!

About the instructor: Joanna Lepore Dwyer is a chocolate maker, pastry chef, and artist. She is passionate about creating culinary experiences to encourage connections between individuals and where their food comes from! She holds a certificate in sensory science from The Institute of Food Technologists, a BFA in Sculpture, and 20+ years’ experience in fine pastry, chocolate making, and culinary training in NYC and Seattle including a 10-year stint at Theo Chocolate as head of Product Development.

When she is not helping national chocolate brands develop new products and training QC teams in sensory science, she works with a colleague under the moniker A Matter of Taste to incorporate culinary experiences into Corporate and Non-Profit professional development agendas.
