Description
Ages 10 to 15, with one adult. Yule log cakes (Bûche de Noël) are a beloved holiday tradition in France. Kids can cozy up to new baking skills in this festive class, where each pair one child and one adult will learn to prepare their own cake to take home! Come away with new baking skills you'll find plenty of use for throughout the year, like making and shaping chiffon cake, mixing perfect chocolate frosting, creating whipped cream from scratch and crafting decorations from scratch.
With dairy and eggs.
About the instructor: Zola was born and raised in Seattle by a family that loves to cook, and though she has worked professionally as a pastry chef and baker, her real passion is her role as a home cook. Zola’s cooking classes emphasize getting comfortable in the kitchen through technique, a little bit of food science, and, most importantly, a sense of humor. In addition to her cooking classes, Zola contributes recipes and writing to Food52 and writes a monthly recipe column for the online publication, TASTE.
