An update from Krish and the PCC team
2025 News
Dear Co-op Member-Owner,
Though each season in the Pacific Northwest brings its own special harvest, summer offers an especially abundant variety of fresh, local produce. With berries, tomatoes, corn and so much more coming into season, it’s a great time to enjoy the bounty of our region, and I hope these vibrant flavors and colors are finding their way to your kitchens.
It’s been a season full of exciting moments for our co-op. One highlight was our Annual Board of Trustees Election, a meaningful benefit of co-op membership and an important way to make your voice heard in PCC’s governance and future. Thank you to everyone who attended the candidate forum and annual meeting and to all who cast their votes. I am thrilled to welcome both Cindy Bolton and Angela Owen back to the Board and to add Will Daugherty as a first-time PCC Board member. Cindy, Angela and Will each bring a wealth of knowledge and unique experience in the pursuance of our mission and triple bottom line. I am grateful for your collective engagement in this important process.

I’m also excited to share that, as of early June, our members and shoppers have helped raise $315,108 for Growing for Good through donations as well as round-ups at the check-out. These generous contributions fuel our crucial food access work, connecting farms directly with hunger relief organizations including food banks. In 2024, Growing for Good supported 17 local farms and 25 local hunger relief organizations with more than $248,000 in support from our members and shoppers. This program is an example of how collaboration and cooperation nourish communities, especially in times when it is most needed.
Our Co-op Purpose Report for 2024 is now available on our website. The report reflects upon a year of financial resilience, environmental progress, and community impact. I hope you’ll be able to take some time to read it and see how your support made a difference last year and the ways in which your co-op continues to benefit from your membership.

Looking ahead, we’re almost ready to open our new small format store in Downtown Seattle on July 15. Although it will occupy a smaller footprint than the previous downtown store, PCC Corner Market will fill a big need in the community. We can’t wait to welcome you.
As we move into the second half of the year, with some wind in our sails and a lot to be both excited about and grateful for, our mission remains at the core of all we do. And with you, our members, central to so much that we do, I want to thank you for your steadfast support in creating real, lasting impact for our regional food system and our local communities.
With gratitude,
Krish Srinivasan
