(SEATTLE, June 23, 2025) – PCC Community Markets (PCC or the co-op), a 72-year-old retail grocery cooperative serving the Puget Sound region, announced today that its first-ever small format store will open in Downtown Seattle on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 9 a.m. Opening day celebrations will include free samples, giveaways for the first 50 shoppers and music.
Located at 4th Avenue & Union Street, PCC Corner Market will occupy a smaller footprint than the previous downtown store and will be designed around the needs of Downtown Seattle workers, residents and tourists. The store will offer quick, convenient options for breakfast, lunch, and after-work grab-and-go items, as well as everyday essentials for smaller shopping trips. It will feature a curated selection of fresh food including signature deli items from the PCC Market Kitchen, a hot bar and a salad bar along with grocery and pantry staples like milk and eggs; fresh sushi; ice cream; beer and wine, all in line with PCC’s industry-leading product and ingredient quality standards.
The store will be managed by longtime PCC staff member, Eli Dorr-Fay, who has grown his career with PCC and has been a part of the co-op team since 2015.
“I’ve grown up with PCC, first shopping there with my family as a kid and later as a staff member,” said Dorr-Fay, PCC Corner Market’s Store Manager. “The launch of PCC Corner Market represents a new chapter in how we bring fresh, local foods to Downtown Seattle’s residents and workers, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. Returning to this neighborhood offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with the community and help create a welcoming, vibrant space that reflects the heart of the co-op.”
The prior downtown store featured the artwork of Andrea Wilbur-Sigo of the Squaxin Island Tribe, which will now be on display at the new store. Wilbur-Sigo is the first known woman carver of many generations of carvers in the Coast Salish style.
“We are honored to have Andrea Wilbur-Sigo’s work return to our downtown location,” said Krish Srinivasan, PCC’s President and CEO. “Each of our stores strives to reflect the communities they serve. Spotlighting and celebrating local talent brings a sense of connection and inspiration to the shopping experience.”
Located at 1320 4th Ave., PCC Corner Market will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
