Ingredients

  • 1 pink or Rio Red grapefruit
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated or minced fresh ginger

Directions

Cut a small slice off each end of grapefruit and stand upright on a cutting surface. With a knife, remove peel from grapefruit in strips, maintaining the curved shape. Holding the grapefruit in one hand, cut out fruit segments between the membranes (this is called “supreming”).

In a small sauté pan, heat honey over medium heat and add ginger. Bring to a simmer. Remove from the heat and add grapefruit segments. Gently toss to coat. Serve alone or with French toast, ice cream or to accompany a brunch.
