Preparation

Bring 1 cup oats, 2 1/2 cups water and a pinch of salt to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5-15 minutes, depending on desired consistency.

Yield: about 3/4 cup per 1/4 uncooked oats.

Comment

Rolled oats are made by pressing whole oats between two rollers. Quick oats are cut more finely and rolled thinner than regular or thick.
