Also called Linseed.The oil contained in raw flaxseed is the highest vegetarian source of omega 3 fatty acids. Add to cereals or baked goods, whole or ground; stir ground flaxseed into juice or milk. For egg substitute (binder) in baking, blend one part seeds in three parts water until frothy in blender, strain and refrigerate. One tablespoon replaces one egg as a binding aid.
