A Member Month message from Krish
2025 News
Dear Co-op Member-Owner,
It’s Member Month at PCC — a time dedicated to celebrating you!
On behalf of everyone at the co-op, thank you! With a community that is now more than 120,000 members strong, our movement continues to gain recognition, appreciation and momentum as a force for good in our local food system.
Your membership and support make all that we do possible. Because of your engagement, we are able to partner with hundreds of organic farmers and producers across our region, prioritize sustainability, and nourish our local communities. Whether it’s supporting hunger relief programs including food banks, advocating for transparent food labeling, reducing our environmental impact, and so much more, your membership plays a vital role.
As a PCC member, we hope you are able to regularly enjoy the curated benefits we regularly provide throughout the year, from free products and discounts to events and classes. Our growing partner program connects you to local businesses aligned with our values, offering meaningful perks across the region, and your membership helps strengthen them, too.
In addition, PCC membership helps ensure that your values and the issues you most care about are addressed and thoughtfully stewarded as the world evolves. One of the eight core cooperative principles is democratic member control, which means that you, as a member, are able to vote for candidates to serve on the co-op’s Board of Trustees, the body that governs our long-term vision and membership program. Unlike corporations beholden to Wall Street or private investors or shareholders, we’re instead held accountable to our community, who are our owners. We are democracy in action, and a powerful reminder that as a member-owner, you’re not just a shopper — you’re a stakeholder in shaping the future of your community.
Your support delivers value in ways that go far beyond a single transaction. Shopping your co-op is an investment in your neighbors, in the land that feeds us, and in a food system that prioritizes people and planet.
Together, we are creating a more vibrant, resilient, and local food system. Thank you for choosing to be part of it.
With gratitude,
Krish Srinivasan
President and CEO (and PCC member since the 90’s)
