Seahawks’ NFC Championship results in $2,400 donation to Seattle Children’s Hospital

2015 News

(Seattle, Wash., January 20, 2014) – A friendly wager between Seattle-based PCC Natural Markets (PCC) and Milwaukee-headquartered Outpost Natural Foods, on the outcome of the NFC championship game between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, was a win for Seattle Children’s Hospital. Each of the natural foods co-ops agreed to donate $1,200, which would go to a children’s hospital in either Seattle or Milwaukee, ensuring that no matter how the game went, kids would win.

PCC has partnered with Seattle Children’s for several years through its Families Helping Families program. Since 2010, PCC has donated five percent of PCC Kid Picks product sales, up to a total of $10,000 in support of Seattle Children’s nutrition outreach programs. PCC Kid Picks is a 10-year program that invites kids of age 12 and younger to vote on PCC products; products that are “liked” by two-thirds of kid judges are flagged in PCC’s stores, website and advertising as “Kid Picks approved.”
