2019-2020 Board of Trustees

A board elected by the Active Membership directs PCC. The board is comprised of up to 13 trustees. Trustees are elected for three-year terms, and the board has the authority to appoint individuals to fill vacancies on the board. Elected trustees may serve up to a maximum of three consecutive three-year terms. For more information please see Section 3.4 of PCC’s Bylaws.

Cindy Bolton

Elected to the Board in 2019. Current term expires in 2022.
Committees: Governance and Membership.

Chief Financial Officer of the Seattle Art Museum. 20+ years in strategy, finance and operations across multiple industries in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. Currently serves on the Board of KEXP. Proud parent and arts & music enthusiast.

Brad Brown

Elected to the Board in 2017. Current term expires 2021.

Retired Senior Vice President, Digital Retail, of REI with responsibility for the co-operative’s digital businesses. Career spanning over 40 years of retail leadership in information technology and e-commerce. Currently serves on the boards of the UW Medical Center and the Asheville Farmstead School with prior experience governing nonprofits. Known for his ability to lead teams through complex challenges and constant change. Avid cyclist, hiker, alpine skier and traveler.

Cate Hardy

Cate Hardy

Appointed as ex officio member in 2019. Term runs with term as CEO.

PCC Community Markets CEO since 2015 with 15 years of retail experience in general management, retail operations, supply chain, growth and store development, and strategy. Prior to PCC, was in leadership at Starbucks Coffee Company. Currently on the boards of The Wine Group, the world’s third-largest wine producer; the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce; and the non-profit organization FareStart. Enjoys travel, boating, and cooking.

Debra Johnson

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, of Evergreen Home Loans. More than 25 years of financial services experience at an executive level. Past board chair of Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King County and Coal Creek Family YMCA. Currently serving on the Finance Committee of Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King County. Enjoys gardening, running, reading and travel.

Current CEO of givingcompass, parent, social entrepreneur, nonprofit leader, HuffPo blogger, MBA and educator, and an outdoors enthusiast who works to get urban children and families outdoors.

Angela Owen

Angela Owen

Elected to the Board in 2019. Current term expires in 2022.
Committees: Management Development and Compensation.

Consultant for retail and CPG companies specializing in strategy, category management, customer experience and operations to drive growth, innovation and profit. Thirty-year career in specialty retail including merchandising and marketing executive leadership of REI Co-op and startup companies. Currently serves on the board of Destination Pet. Enjoys cooking, tennis and traveling.

Stephen Tan

Environmental lawyer and partner at Cascadia Law Group. Frequent writer and speaker on environmental and conservation policy and board governance. Currently serves on the boards of KNKX-FM, Braided River Publishing and the National Audubon Society.

Sandy Voit

Elected to the Board in 2012. Current term expires 2021. Current board vice-chair.

Divorce financial planner, personal finances counselor. Former Dean of Students at Bastyr University, and Executive Director at Temple Beth Am. Enjoys landscaping, house projects, hiking, cooking and musicals.

Catherine L. Walker

Catherine L. Walker

Has served on the Board since 2016 (appointed by Board in 2016 and 2017; elected in 2018). Current term expires 2021. Current board chair.
Committees: Management Development and Compensation (chair), Governance and Membership.

Recently retired executive leader and General Counsel for REI, the largest consumer co-operative in the U.S. Former member of REI’s board of directors (8 years). Over 25 years of experience as General Counsel, including international business development and operations. Current and prior service on several nonprofit boards of directors and involvement with policy issues affecting public recreational lands. Enjoys cycling, hiking and traveling.

Bruce Williams

Elected to the Board in 2011. Current term expires 2020.

Serves on the boards of the Chelan Douglas Land Trust and the Board of Commissioners of Cascade Medical Center.
