PCC Community Markets to Open 17th Neighborhood Store in Madison Valley on October 14

SEATTLE, WA (September 23, 2026) — PCC Community Markets, the 73-year-old community-owned grocery co-op founded in Seattle and the largest food co-op in the country, will open its 17th neighborhood store in Seattle’s Madison Valley neighborhood on October 14.
At 2925 E. Madison Street, shoppers will enjoy an exciting range of offerings, including fresh sushi prepared in-house; PCC’s refreshed pizza program made with local, organic Cairnspring Mills flour and 100% olive oil; and new store decor centered on the co-op’s industry-leading quality standards that span organic agriculture, fair labor, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and more.

The Madison Valley location will offer a full assortment of the high-quality groceries PCC is known for, including locally grown organic produce, ethically raised meat and seafood, and a wide selection of seasonal products sourced from across the Pacific Northwest.
Strong everyday value will be represented throughout the store through PCC Branded Products products, Field Day products, and a large bulk section curated to provide staples at accessible prices. The deli will include an abundant array of freshly prepared meals, seasonal salads, artisanal sandwiches, hot soups, and convenient grab-and-go options crafted daily.
Ahead of the opening, PCC has been getting to know the neighborhood and building relationships with local businesses, community organizations, schools, and residents. The team has connected with local business leaders and organizations including Café Flora, Friends of Madison Park, and the Madison Valley Merchants Association and supported local community events such as Concerts in the Park and the McGilvra Elementary School auction. PCC has also joined neighbors and local businesses in advocating for a crosswalk signal on Madison Street to improve pedestrian safety and access. These efforts reflect PCC’s commitment to listening to the community, building meaningful local relationships, and becoming a part of the neighborhood well before the store opens its doors.
As with all PCC stores, the Madison Valley location will support local community organizations, partnering with the Jewish Family Service of Seattle, Bailey-Boushay House, FEEST, Downtown Emergency Service Center, The Food Bank @ St. Mary’s, and Black Farmers Collective.

The store is expected to employ approximately 75 employees, including skilled deli staff who will prepare many signature items in-house. PCC supports its staff with industry-leading compensation and benefits packages for all unionized staff members.
Many staff members will join the Madison Valley team from other PCC locations, bringing deep experience from within the co-op and a strong commitment to quality and service. Store Director Nick Novak joined PCC in 2022 and brings more than 25 years of industry experience, including more than 20 years in store leadership. Most recently, he served as Store Director at Green Lake Village PCC. Assistant Store Director Morgan Simon began his PCC career in 2010 as a dishwasher at the Fremont store and has held a variety of roles across the co-op, including leadership positions at PCC stores in Bellevue and Issaquah.
The Madison Valley location marks PCC’s 17th neighborhood store and reflects the cooperative’s longstanding commitment to local Seattle and Puget Sound communities.
