Strengthening Washington’s Climate Bill HB 1099

March 4, 2022

PCC signed on to a joint letter encouraging the Washington State legislature to pass HB 1099 with full funding and requirements for greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

HB 1099 is a climate, housing, and transportation bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. As the bill moved through the legislature, an amendment was added that would cut the bill in half and significantly undermine the emissions reductions goals.

Organized by Futurewise and the Washington Can’t Wait campaign, many local governments, tribes, non-profit organizations, and businesses across Washington signed a letter urging the Senate to take action and pass a strong climate action bill with full funding.
